Connecting at a FAWCO Conference: The Hague, March 25-29, 2004

The Hague is the beautiful site of the March 25-29, 2004 Conference. The AWC of The Hague, assisted by the AWC of Amsterdam, invites FAWCO Club delegates and participants to join FAWCO colleagues at the Kurhaus Hotel (http://www.kurhaus.nl) located on the Scheveningen beach, about 10 minutes from The Hague city center. The Conference Planning Committee is chaired by FAWCO Counselor Georgia Regnault. Innovative workshop formats and speakers representing this city of international peace are part of the four-day Conference. A program for spouses is being planned. For more details and information, please refer to the FAWCO website at http://www.fawco.org.

Ally and Elly from the AWCH Friendship Quilt square. For each FAWCO conference, the AWC clubs prepare a square for the Friendship Quilt which is auctioned as a fundraiser at the conference. This year the request was to prepare a local version of Sunbonnet Sue, one of the most popular appliqué patterns of all time.

Our new member Monika W created the lovely twin set in front of the Hamburg skyline, our club label with Nancy Tilitz’s drawing. The twins show Ally representing the Alster and Elly representing the Elbe.

Monika did a GREAT job and on behalf of our club I extend our hearty THANKS to her.
